Frequently asked questions
An Exercise Physiologist (EP) is a university-trained allied health professional who uses exercise as medicine. We design safe, evidence-based programs to help people manage chronic conditions, recover from injury, improve strength, and boost overall performance and health.
“ActiveRx” brings together two key ideas. ‘Active’ stands for movement, lifestyle, and taking charge of your health. ‘Rx’ is the medical symbol for prescription. Together, it means exercise is medicine. At ActiveRx, we create personalised, evidence-based programs to help you move better, get stronger, and live healthier.
Physiotherapists are experts in diagnosing and treating injuries, often using hands-on therapy in the early stages. Exercise Physiologists are university-trained experts in all things exercise and movement. We use exercise as medicine to support recovery, manage chronic conditions, enhance performance, and improve quality of life. Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists work in different ways, but together they play complementary roles in your care.

No, Exercise Physiologists focus on using exercise as medicine rather than manual or hands-on therapy.
